PRODUCTS LAUNCHED

Owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the Foxwoods Resort Casino opened in 1992 and boasts seven casinos.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, a federally recognised Indian tribe, is located on one of the oldest reservations in existence: Mashantucket, in Southeastern Connecticut.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is considered a pioneer in the Indian casino gaming industry. In addition to owning the Foxwoods Resort Casino, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation also owns a variety of complementary businesses, including Lake of Isles, a luxury golf experience and the Spa at Norwich Inn. The tribe also has a health and wellness company called Pequot Health Care, offering tribal and commercial health benefit plan management and pharmaceutical services throughout the US.

The Mashantucket Pequots have hosted more than 330 million visitors since 1992. The tribe has contributed more than $4bn in slot revenue payments to the state of Connecticut. It also has contributed hundreds of millions of dollars in donations and sponsorships to support charities, community events and programs as well as other tribes in need, both locally and across the US.

"I always say I want the team to feel comfortable, valued and important every day they walk through these doors. That’s still something I started early in my career and it drives me to this day. If we’re not accomplishing that, from a senior executive level or from a morale perspective, then we need to take a hard look at what we’re doing” Jason Guyot

Interviews and public speeches

For the CEO Special of Gaming America magazine, Guyot spoke to Tim Poole in September 2023 about the joys – and challenges – of running a Tribal property.
